It evaluates business needs, drives improvements to processes and tools, and applies advanced problem-solving techniques to resolve complex technical issues. Responsibilities include analyzing existing systems, developing new solutions where needed, ensuring integration across MDM and customer/vendor master environments, and overseeing non-routine technical work conducted by internal and external contributors. The role also leads or participates in project teams, develops project plans that support business strategies, assesses the impact of system changes, and ensures operational readiness for assigned applications.Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Ownership and Technical LeadershipDevelopment and EngineeringProject and Cross-Functional LeadershipOperational and Governance SupportYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum):Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or technology field (completed and verified prior to start)Six (6) years of relevant IT experience in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further:• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Python, APIs, SQL, and data transformation.• Proven experience with data quality and matching tools such as Loqate or MatchIt.• Experience with third-party enrichment processes (e.g., Dun & Bradstreet), address validation, and customer data matching.• Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams and mentor technical resources.• Strong problem-solving, systems analysis, and communication skills.• Knowledge of MDM, customer master data, and data governance practices preferred.• Exposure to cloud platforms, DevOps tools, and Agile delivery environments is a plus.Work location:This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.Travel: May include up to 5% domesticRelocation: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
