Inbound Inventory Clerk

Position SummaryThe Inbound Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt of inbound materials and finished goods. This role works closely with the Inventory team to ensure inventory accuracy, proper storage, and efficient material movement throughout the operation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and willing to learn material handling equipment, including forklift operation.Key ResponsibilitiesInbound ReceivingReceive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and shipping documentsIdentify and report discrepancies, damages, or shortagesAccurately enter received inventory into the warehouse management or ERP systemLabel, stage, and store materials in designated locationsInventory SupportPartner with the Inventory team on internal inventory moves and location transfersParticipate in cycle counts and physical inventory activitiesAssist with investigating and resolving inventory variancesMaintain accurate inventory records and documentationMaterial Handling & SafetySafely move materials using pallet jacks and other equipmentLearn and operate a forklift in accordance with company safety standards (training provided)Follow all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and OSHA guidelinesGeneral Warehouse SupportMaintain a clean and organized receiving areaCommunicate effectively with purchasing, inventory control, and operations teamsSupport continuous improvement efforts related to receiving and inventory accuracyQualifications & SkillsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentPrior warehouse or receiving experience preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsBasic computer skills and ability to learn inventory systemsAbility to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs] and perform physical workWillingness to learn forklift operation and become certifiedPreferredPrevious experience with inventory control or cycle countingForklift experience or certification (or willingness to obtain)Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environmentCompetenciesAccuracy and accountabilityTeamwork and communicationSafety awarenessTime management and reliabilityContinuous learning mindsetWork EnvironmentWarehouse and manufacturing settingStanding, walking, lifting, and operating material handling equipmentExposure to varying temperatures and noise levels
