Pay: $21.00 - $31.00 per hour based on skill, experience, and certificationsJob description:Join the DSM Contracting Team building projects all over Maryland!We are looking for confident team players to responsibly represent DSM Contracting in a driver role. Our drivers are to safely and professionally drive a MANUAL Tri-Axle Dump Truck managing company time, equipment, tools, and materials to all our local projects & job sites in accordance with policies, procedures, and programs.Experienced and knowledgeable adherence to DOT requirements relevant to operating commercial vehicles. Including but not limited to:Daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle in order to maintain maximum vehicle safety conditions and to check for any damaged or work parts; or for any signs of tampering.Drives dump truck to destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and familiarity of roads in the area.Maintains a truck log in accordance with state/federal regulations and company policy.Communicates regularly to ensure that delivery schedule is being followed and that any problems with traffic or with site conditions are reported promptly. Awareness of all information on the location of the job site and the locations of any light bridges or roads site routes.Properly pulls levers or turns cranks to tilt body and dump load from truck.Complies with all aspects of truck maintenance, cleanliness and repair in accordance with the guidelines specified in the Truck Driver's Handbook.Demonstrates excellent time management skills completing all duties, deliveries, and tasks.Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.Performs snow removal operations during winter snow events for municipalities.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED is required.Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required.Two years of CDL driving in a vehicle with a GVW of 33,000 pounds or greater is required.Previous dump truck experience.Must be physically able to operate, move about, and maintain a dump truck.Must pass DOT physical.Willingness to learn and adapt to change.MUST be competent in operating and shifting a MANUAL Heavy Duty Truck Transmission. (Floating of gears, range selection, etc)Snowplow Experience a plus.Exceptional Applicants:Over 10+ years driving Triaxle Dump TrucksClean driving record (0 point and no accidents)Strong Command of driving a Mack Tri-axle dump truck, with an Eaton TransmissionMunicipal Snowplow ExperienceClass A Driver's LicenseExperience in pulling and backing up Tag-A-Long Trailer with Dump TrucksExperience in Loading, Unloading, and Securing Construction Equipment for transportAble to work extended shiftsAble to work weekendsLight Mechanical ExperienceAdditional Job Requirements:Must show composure and constraint driving safely, with respect to all company assets.Complete understanding of error in judgment while driving could result in injury or death to employee or the public. Poor driving would result in a negative perception by the public towards the company.Interacts with the public the team, and others in the company while performing duties and making deliveries.The physical demands required are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
