Unit Details – Med-Surg w/ Tele Unit Size:51 beds Patient Population:Adults Care Type:Acute Med-Surg with Telemetry Common Diagnoses:CHF, COPD, Diabetes Post-op Ortho, Urology, GI Dementia, End-of-life care General medical (excluding ICU, Psych, Women & Children)????? Nurse Requirements (Strict) Experience Required:5 years Med-Surg Tele OR 3 years Tele required Minimum 2 years total clinical experience Prior travel experience REQUIRED Must have completed:2 travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities OR Previous experience at any UVMHN acute care facilityCertifications Required:AHA BLS AHA ACLS NIHSS (before start date)Telemetry Skills Required:Apply leads Interpret rhythms Actively respond/interveneHands-On Skills:NG tube insertion Peripheral IV insertion Tele strip interpretation?? Ratios & Support RN Ratio:Days: 1:3–5 Nights: 1:4–6LNA/CNA Support:1:8–10 Charge Nurse:24/7 (no patient assignment) Unit Secretary:6 AM – 10 PM most days RT & Anesthesia:24/7 support Ventilators Managed By:Respiratory Therapy ?
