We move water.Location: Havelock, NCJob Summary:The primary responsibility of a Service Manager is to manage, direct, train, and evaluate the daily activities of the service department, ensuring the timeliness and quality of work performed and minimizing the costs of parts and labor. The Service Manager is directly responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all equipment at the branch level and for ensuring quality repairs to all equipment as well as responding to equipment failures as they occur in the field. As such, the Service Manager serves as a working team member and individual contributor to the team's overall success.Typical Duties and Responsibilities:Directly oversee and control the workload of all shop and field service employeesEstablish quality and productivity criteria, ensuring that company productivity requirements are being metEnsure accurate completion of service orders by service team members, including accurate documentation of service orders and part numbers in the appropriate systemsPerform quality checks on serviced items to ensure proper repairs have been completedPrepare and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule on equipment, and ensure its complianceMaintain records of equipment purchases, repairs, maintenance, servicing, and warrantiesControl, order, and maintain an inventory of parts and supplies to meet daily service requestsOversee the accurate and timely estimation of maintenance and repair work through the appropriate tracking systemsOversee, guide, and complete diagnosis and repairs both in the shop and in the fieldMaintain and enforce company Quality/Environmental systems and procedures applicable to daily work activities of all service personnelMaintain and enforce company safety standards for all service personnelEnsure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in the day-to-day activities of each and every projectQualifications:Bachelor's degree in diesel or truck service repair or a related fieldAppropriate equipment repair certifications desired3 years of project management and supervisory experiencePlanning and organizational skills in handling multiple projectsAbility to read schematics, blueprints, and/or technical manualsSkills in workflow analysis and managementSpecific Expectations:A professional demeanorAbility to work effectively with othersAbility to multi-task in a changing environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet job requirementsAbility to travelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong time management and organizational skillsRequires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkwardCareer Path:This position is directly responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all equipment at the branch level and for ensuring quality repairs to all equipment. This experience will prepare the employee for additional career paths that include, but are not limited to:Foreman or Superintendent: Primary lead responsible for instructing crews and managing complete pump system setups. This is primarily for larger local projects that have multiple pumps and large piping.Regional Superintendent: Travel across the region to implement the larger and high-profile projects as needed and requested by the RVP.Regional Service Manager: Manage all operations of the Service division for the region.Project Manager: Manage the setup, operation and financial performance of projects from implementation to completionDisclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
