PhlebotomistFollows established procedures to perform routine and STAT blood collection and specimen processing for all laboratory testing. Performs preventive maintenance, humidity, and temperature checks of refrigerators, freezers, heat blocks and other equipment as assigned. Performs routine maintenance of centrifuges, hoods, and other laboratory equipment. Assists in maintaining phlebotomy and blood collection supplies and other inventory.Qualifications:Basic phlebotomy skills with certificateAbility to complete the duties and responsibilities of this position accurately and efficiently regardless of the pressures of the environmentSufficient technical knowledge and skills to support the needs of the organizationVerbal and written communication skills to support the efficient and effective transfer of data/informationIn order to demonstrate competency in serving acute care, and critical care patients, the employee must demonstrate the skills/knowledge/resources of laboratory services population specific learning module.Demonstrated baseline competency in all areas of the indicated skill rosters meets standardPrevious experience in a clinical laboratory preferredHigh School Graduate/equivalent preferredValid Phlebotomy Certification from the State of California requiredCurrent BLS (AHA) required
