JUMBO/Non-QM Loan Underwriter

Job Description Overview:We are seeking a motivated, self-driven, and detail-oriented Junior Underwriter/Processor to join our fast-growing team at General Mortgage Capital Corporation's Flushing branch in Flushing, New York. While this position is for all people such as recent college graduates, we prefer candidates with 1-2 years of experience in industries such as financial services, mortgage lending, or real estate. Although not required, STEM and business majors are preferred.Key Responsibilities: Assist senior underwriters in the evaluation and analysis of loan applications. Process and verify loan documents to ensure completeness and accuracy. Maintain and update loan application databases. Perform initial underwriting reviews to identify potential issues. Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and information. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Provide excellent customer service to inbound/outbound communicationsQualifications: College graduate with a degree in a related field. STEM and business majors preferred but not required. 1-2 years of relevant experience in industries such as financial services, mortgage lending, or real estate. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
