Structural Engineer | Entry-Level
LHB has an immediate opportunity for an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our Energy and Industry Business Unit. The position will be based in our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices.Position SummaryThe responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited toWork effectively in hybrid work environmentPrepare structural design calculations and drawings under guidance of an experienced engineerParticipate in virtual and in-person project and department team meetingsCommunicate effectively and respectfully with design team Assist with, direct, and perform project draftingWork with other engineers and technicians to perform field assessments of existing structuresAssist with construction site visits and field observationsComplete requests for information and review of submittalsMeet client objectives, and exceed their expectationsAssist with written technical reports Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program Valid driver’s license with ability to travel domestically, intermittently Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or RevitAbility to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditionsUpon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulationsPreferred QualificationsPrior structural engineering experience including concrete and steel designPassed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examDemonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and structural analysis software such as RISA and/or STAADProficiency using AutoCAD and/or RevitExperience with industry, building, and design codesExperience with proposal preparationPossess excellent time management and problem-solving skillsVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing prioritiesMSHA CertificationAttention to detail, quality, and accuracyAbility to work on multiple tasks, respond positively to feedback, and an openness and desire to learnGood oral and written communication skills, including technical writing ability Salary RangeThis position’s anticipated base salary range is $67,925 - $75,075 (This position is eligible for yearend bonuses, as well as straight time pay for all hours that exceed 40 in a work week) Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
