Statistical Geneticist
About the role: We are looking for a statistical geneticist to develop and test the underlying genetic score algorithms that underpin our web application. Qualifications: Ph.D. or Masters degree in a genetics-focused discipline Experience in genetics data analysis Experience in next-generation sequencing analysis Familiarity with variant databases, ClinVar, HGMD, Ensembl, gnomAD, 1kgenomes, etc. Familiarity with fastq to vcf-file analysis and processing, nf-core / sarek (preferred) Experience with GWAS and PRS modeling (preferred) Some programming knowledge, e.g. Python and R (preferred) Responsibilities: Combine common variant and rare variant genetic analysis approaches into algorithmic pipelines. Collect and integrate public data for testing genetic risk scoring models. Design accurate questions and tests to ensure the continuous improvement of our product. Work closely with the communications department to ensure accurate dissemination of genetic findings to our customers. Proactively collaborate with project teams to identify key needs and questions that can be addressed using genomics, sequencing, or bioinformatics.
