Maintenance Supervisor
The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be self-directed, and be confident in their decision-making abilities.
Functions and Responsibilities:
Achieving Maintenance goals with the highest regard for employee safety
Capable of supporting troubleshooting & observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other maintenance staff to ensure production and quality standards are met
Managing the department cost in an aggressive manner assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost; develop and educate key metrics.
Maintenance Planning, planning non-emergency maintenance, coordinating PM routes
Effectively communicating goals and/or instructions
Managing conflicts
Supervising Maintenance and Cleanup personnel on varying schedules
Managing contractor safety through active leadership.
Maintenance of sawmill equipment (this includes but is not limited to De-Barkers, Gang Edgers, Trimmer, Sorter, Stacker, Conveyors, Chippers, Blowers, Hydraulic Systems, Pneumatic Systems)
Safety of the crew (Lock-Out Procedures, assisting with and verifying Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA), Safety Audits)
Arrange WF Training for and mentoring apprentices
Creating and planning improvement projects
Managing parts with the purchaser
Scheduling and attendance
Will include periodic weekend coverage
Inspecting completed work
Measures and Performance:

Maintenance/departmental cost

Employee training and development
Production, grade recovery, and downtime
Maintenance & appearance of production/plant equipment
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Prior Journeyman Electrician or Millwright
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Well organized
Minimum of five years (plus) of industrial experience
Leadership and communication skills
Two or Four-year degree preferred
Prior Supervisory experience preferred
