Position Type: Athletics/Activities/Coaching Date Posted: 5/27/2026 Location: Ellington High School Closing Date: Until Filled Position: Assistant Boys Soccer Coach School: Ellington High School Location: Ellington Public Schools Reports To: Director of Athletics and Wellness / Head Boys Soccer Coach Position Summary: Ellington High School is seeking a qualified and motivated Assistant Boys Soccer Coach to support the boys soccer program. The assistant coach will work under the direction of the head coach and athletic department to help provide a positive, competitive, and educational athletic experience for student-athletes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, knowledge of the game, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to support the values and expectations of Ellington Public Schools and Ellington Athletics. Responsibilities Include:Assist the head coach with planning and conducting practices, games, and team activitiesSupport the development of individual skills, team concepts, and overall soccer knowledgePromote sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and a positive team cultureSupervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team-related eventsCommunicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, families, officials, and athletic administrationSupport all CIAC, conference, district, and school policies and expectationsAssist with equipment, attendance, eligibility, and other program needs as assigned by the head coach or athletic departmentServe as a positive role model for student-athletes on and off the field Qualifications:Previous coaching and/or playing experience preferredStrong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategy, and player developmentAbility to work collaboratively with the head coach and athletic departmentStrong interpersonal and communication skillsCommitment to the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletesMust meet all district, CIAC, and State of Connecticut coaching certification requirements Preferred Attributes:Student-centered approach to coachingAbility to build positive relationships with athletesStrong organizational skillsCommitment to creating a safe, respectful, and competitive team environmentWillingness to support the overall mission of Ellington Athletics Application Procedure: Interested candidates should apply through Frontline and submit all required materials.
