PTF (Powerunit Test Facility) Testcell Engineer
location: Burlington, NC 27215, United StatesKey Responsibilities:1. Test Operation SupportSupport preparation, execution, and monitoring of test activities for GT-Hybrid systemsPerform equipment setup, wiring, instrumentation, and test cell preparationOperate and monitor the Enorise (FEV-origin) test system using Morphee control softwareUtilize A&D data acquisition systems for measurement and data validationMonitor system behavior and respond to abnormal conditionsAssist in test data collection and preliminary analysis2. Facility & Equipment ManagementMaintain and manage test facility equipment including:Enorise (formerly FEV) integrated test benchesBattery simulators, dynamometers, and auxiliary systemsPerform daily inspection, condition monitoring, and preventive maintenanceManage spare parts inventory and coordinate equipment repairsManage control systems (Morphee), measurement systems (A&D), and related HW/SW configurationSupport system updates, modifications, and commissioning activities3. Safety & Risk ManagementExecute safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and internal standardsParticipate in safety reviewsPerform immediate actions for emergency situations (equipment stop, safe shutdown, and evacuation support)Support improvement of safety procedures and operational rules4. Test Planning & CoordinationSupport planning of test schedule, resources, and preparation activitiesCoordinate with global engineering teams (primarily Japan) to align test requirementsEnsure test readiness conditions (equipment, safety, and personnel) are satisfiedReport status, issues, and results clearly to stakeholders5. Data & IT ManagementOperate and maintain test data systems including A&D measurement platform and data storage systems,Manage test data storage, backup, and access controlSupport data integration and monitoring system operationMaintain network and IT systems in compliance with company policies6. Supplier & System Interface CoordinationAct as a technical interface with:Enorise (test system supplier)Measurement/system vendors such as A&DSupport troubleshooting, maintenance, and modification activities with suppliersCoordinate RFQ, repair requests, and technical discussionsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience in test facilities, powertrain systems, gas turbine systems or industrial equipmentHands-on experience with:Complex test systems (dyno, HV systems, etc.)Data acquisition systemsBasic understanding of control systems and industrial safetyPreferred QualificationsExperience with:Enorise / FEV test systems (or similar integrated test benches)Morphee or equivalent test automation/control softwareA&D measurement/data acquisition systemsExperience with hybrid, gas turbine, or high-voltage systemsExperience working in global teams (US–Japan collaboration)Key Competencies:Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsAbility to respond to real-time equipment abnormalitiesOwnership mindset for facility safety and operational stabilityCapability to work across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
