Member Programs Intern
AQHA Member Programs is looking for a qualified intern to join our team at AQHA Headquarters in Amarillo, TX. Our department manages the ranching heritage, breeder recognition and professional horsemen programs for AQHA. This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of the association. If accepted, the intern will be immersed in a fascinating cross-section of the equine industry, including planning and production of AQHA's Versatility Ranch Horse Championships, Breeder Recognition Banquet, and Pro Horsemen Academy, as well as stages of our ranching heritage breeder, best remuda, and team wrangler projects. The intern will collaborate with staff from several AQHA departments and will interact with volunteer members of the councils and committees who guide departmental policies.Responsibilities:Assist with details related to event planning and production.Collect and analyze program data and prepare results for presentation.Provide support to social media efforts and content for websites and the online learning platform.Review and update correspondence to program members and stakeholders.Communicate by email, phone and in person with program members and stakeholders, as directed.Provide administrative support to department staff as needed, including but not limited to answering phones, responding to emails, processing forms, and other office functions.Some travel to events may be required.All other duties as assigned.Skills Requirements:Excellent research and writing skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent time management and critical thinking skills.Excellent ability to follow instructions and complete assignments with accuracy.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Preferred equine industry background, however hands-on experience is not required.Equal Opportunity Employer
