Project Executive- Developer Side (Multifamily Construction)

We are partnered with a vertically integrated real estate developer seeking a Project Executive to lead the delivery of ground-up multifamily developments from the owner side.This is not a traditional GC role. This position sits fully on the development side, acting as the lead representative of ownership while overseeing the general contractor and driving project outcomes from preconstruction through completion.The OpportunityThis is a high-impact leadership role where you will operate as the owner's construction lead, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with investment objectives.You will have full visibility across the lifecycle of each deal, working closely with development, capital partners, and external construction teams.Key ResponsibilitiesOwner Side Project LeadershipServe as the lead construction representative for ownership across multiple projectsOversee general contractors and consultants to ensure alignment with project goalsDrive accountability across cost, schedule, and quality from a developer's perspectiveLead OAC meetings and maintain full visibility across project performanceConstruction Oversight & ExecutionReview and challenge GC schedules, sequencing, and means and methodsIdentify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to protect the dealEnsure projects are tracking against key milestones tied to lease up and capital eventsOversee project closeout, punchlist, and turnover from an ownership standpointFinancial & Commercial ManagementProtect the project pro forma through rigorous cost control and forecastingReview and approve budgets, change orders, and pay applicationsTrack cost to complete and manage contingency with disciplineInterface with lenders and capital partners on draws and reportingPreconstruction & Design ManagementLead constructability reviews and value engineering from an owner's lensManage coordination between design teams and GC to reduce downstream riskOversee permitting strategy and preconstruction timelinesSupport underwriting and acquisitions with construction inputTeam & Stakeholder ManagementAct as the bridge between development, design, and construction teamsBuild and maintain strong relationships with GCs, subcontractors, and consultantsProvide clear, consistent reporting to internal leadership and investorsWhat They're Looking For10–15+ years of experience with a top general contractor or developerStrong background delivering ground-up multifamily projectsExperience working closely with ownership, or a desire to transition to the developer sideStrong commercial mindset with the ability to protect project returnsAbility to challenge contractors and drive performance without being in the field dailyWhy This RoleTrue developer-side position with ownership-level influenceAbility to step out of the GC environment and into a more strategic roleExposure to full deal lifecycle, not just construction executionStrong pipeline of multifamily projects with long-term growth
