5 Axis Router Operator - Day Shift

We support leading aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers with an engineering-first, hands-on approach that bridges design, manufacturing, and quality in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.About the RoleG3 Aerospace is seeking a hands-on CNC 3-Axis/5-Axis Router Operator to support production of aerospace interior components and related parts. This role is focused on machine operation, setup, quality checks, and troubleshooting, not programming.The ideal candidate is comfortable working on the shop floor, following established CNC programs, setting up fixtures and tooling, and ensuring parts are produced safely, efficiently, and to specification.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate 3-Axis and 5-axis CNC routers in a production environmentSet up machines according to setup sheets, fixtures, and work instructionsLoad and unload parts, fixtures, and toolingVerify correct tools, offsets, and work holding prior to running programsMonitor machining operations to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional requirementsPerform in-process inspections and basic dimensional checksIdentify and troubleshoot common machining issues (tool wear, chatter, part movement, surface finish issues)Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and housekeepingAccurately complete job travelers, inspection records, and production documentationAssist with packaging, labeling, and preparation of finished parts for shipmentWork closely with programmers, engineers, and quality to resolve production issuesFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work areaRequired Qualifications2+ years experience operating CNC routers (3-Axis and 5-axis preferred)Experience setting up fixtures, tooling, and work offsetsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructionsFamiliarity with basic measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, go/no-go gauges, etc.)Strong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to assist with other shop-floor duties as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience operating CNC routersBackground in aerospace, interiors, plastics, composites, or thermoformed partsExperience with trim operations and complex part geometriesFamiliarity with CNC router platformsBasic understanding of G-code (for awareness and troubleshooting, not programming)Physical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs occasionallyProlonged standing, bending, and working around moving machineryModerate noise environment typical of a manufacturing shopWhat We’re Looking ForA reliable, safety-conscious operator who takes pride in their workSomeone who follows procedures but speaks up when something doesn’t look rightA team player who supports production goals and continuous improvementHands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working with machineryBenefits & CompensationCompetitive hourly pay based on experienceHealth benefits packagePaid holidays and paid time offProfit-sharing bonusesOpportunities for skill development and advancement
