Senior Accountant

HHM Talent is assisting a client with a search for a Senior Accountant in South Pittsburg, TN.This is a hybrid opportunity that will begin as a 1099 contract role for the first 90 days, with the intention of transitioning into a full-time permanent employee position after that period.Position OverviewThis position will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with accurate financial reporting, and help improve accounting processes as the company continues to grow. This person will be hands-on in the details and will play an important role in maintaining clean, timely, and accurate financial information.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport daily accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and reconciliations Prepare monthly journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages Maintain account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of account balances Research and resolve accounting discrepancies Support cash flow reporting and assist with forecasting as needed Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and variance analysis Coordinate with outside CPA firms, auditors, and tax partners as needed Review current processes and recommend improvements for efficiency Assist with payroll and benefits administration as needed Support special accounting projects and additional reporting needs as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Prior experience as a Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, Accounting Specialist, or similar role preferred Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting GAAP knowledge preferred Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Excel Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities Strong attention to detail and accuracy Comfortable working in a hands-on accounting role within a growing company
