Remote US or UK Crawl Engineer

Hanzo is a fast-growing, innovative company committed to reaching its business objectives. We're seeking a Senior Crawl Engineer to be part of our professional services team. This role reports directly to our Sr, Manager Professional Services. This role can be based in US or UK and 100% remote opportunity.Role Overview:Hanzo has implemented the entire technology stack required to capture and archive the modern web with a sophisticated crawler at its core. This job is at the heart of crawler operations: to configure and manage crawls, process archived data, and interact with customers. You will gain exposure to many different web technologies to reverse engineer the design and implementation to support efficient and effective web archiving. Expected to support customers from all operational requirements in support of crawl engineering team.Key Responsibilities:Run crawler operations, including configuring crawls, developing custom crawler code, diagnosing and resolving issuesWork within our process which includes monitoring SLAs, updating our issue tracking systemTranslate feedback from customers and operations into software development to enhance our product and service offeringsMaintain and enhance existing software (both internal products and our open source projects)Communicate systematically and at the right timeWork proactively, enthusiastically seeking problems in the software and systems and finding solutionsBe responsible for completing time-critical day-to-day tasksSupport Junior Crawl Engineers with day-to-day tasksSolve problems independently and as a team Qualifications & Requirements: 2-4 years of experience in a software dev/ops production environment2-4 years of experience coding with Python and JavascriptAbility to write quality codeWilling to firefightUnderstand and work with other people's codeSolve technical and operational problemsUnix / Linux, including scripting with tools like grep, find and awkIn depth understanding of HTTP and webProfessional written communicationsResponsible and self-motivatedEager to learn, teach, and solve problems Hanzo is committed to fostering a collaborative, high-energy culture where sales excellence drives company success.
