The Senior Accountant will oversee accounting operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The individual is also expected to support budgeting and forecasting, analyze financial data, and provide insights to guide business decisions. Collaboration with internal teams on tax filing and auditing processes is a key part of the role.Core Accounting OperationsOwn monthly close process across multiple entities (corporate locations, franchise operations, manufacturing)Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)Perform bank, credit card, loan, and intercompany reconciliationsMaintain accurate general ledger across all entitiesEnsure proper expense classification and accrualsMulti-Entity & Intercompany AccountingManage intercompany transactions, allocations, and eliminationsSupport accounting for franchise fees, royalties, brand fund contributions, and reimbursementsTrack and reconcile manufacturing-to-corporate and wholesale transactionsMaintain clean books for lender reporting and ownership reviewAccounts Payable & Receivable OversightOversee AP workflows, vendor setup, and payment accuracySupport AR related to franchise royalties, manufacturing invoices, and wholesale customersMonitor aging reports and flag collection risksEnsure proper documentation and approvals for disbursementsInventory & Cost Accounting (Manufacturing)Support inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goodsAssist with COGS tracking and manufacturing margin analysisReconcile inventory counts and investigate variancesWork closely with operations on purchasing and inventory accuracyCompliance, Controls & ReportingAssist with sales tax, excise tax, and multi-state complianceSupport annual tax filings, audits, and lender reportingMaintain strong internal controls and documentation standardsPrepare supporting schedules for CPA firm and external advisorsSystems & Process ImprovementWork within QuickBooks (and related systems) to improve accuracy and efficiencyHelp document SOPs for accounting workflowsIdentify opportunities to streamline close and reconciliation processesCollaborate with operations to reduce recurring accounting issuesQualificationsStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing practicesProficiency in accounting software and tools such as QuickBooks, Excel, and financial management systemsExperience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisAttention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlinesExcellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilitiesStrong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaborationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferredPrevious experience in senior accounting roles or management of financial operationsFamiliarity with compliance regulations and tax preparation is a plus
