Systems V&V Engineer

What is JetZero? Today's aircraft contribute around 4% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall. JetZero is developing a blended-wing body (BWB) aircraft. It uses up to 50% less fuel and will be built to accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. As a System V&V Engineer, you will lead the planning, execution, and documentation of system-level verification and validation activities across complex aerospace platforms—ensuring designs that meet all functional, safety, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with systems, software, electrical, mechanical, and test engineering teams to define verification approaches, develop test methods, and support system integration and qualification for the demonstrator program. The successful candidate will possess both technical project management skills for the planning of tests as well as the personal execution of tests. What You'll Do:Partner with system owners (avionics, flight controls, electrical, ...) to align verification approachesWork alongside test engineering to develop test setups, instrumentation, and config controlDevelop and maintain system-level V&V plans, test plans, test procedures, and test reportsDefine and trace verification methods (analysis, test, ...) to system requirements and functionsPerform system-level testing, including bench, integration lab, and flight testingParticipate in design reviews and risk assessments to ensure system maturity and airworthinessVarious project management tasks as requiredDetailed understanding of civil aviation standards and practicesExcellent verbal and written interpersonal communication What You Bring: Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace, systems, or a related engineering discipline 5+ years in aircraft system testStrong understanding of systems engineering principles and the V-model lifecycleExperience with requirements management and test management tools Experience in validation and verification of complex aircraft systems specifically in the aerospace testing process: planning, procedures, execution, and reportsAbility to analyze technical data, troubleshoot test failures, and drive root-cause investigations, and document results clearlyComfortable wearing multiple hats, intellectual curiosity, and good cross-functional versatility Preferred ExperienceDirect experience with airplane development programs especially experimental designsFirsthand background in test planning and executionFamiliarity with digital thread approaches (CAD/FEA/PLM) Compensation:Our compensation package is a blend of base salary and equity options for eligible employees. The range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000. We consider a number of factors when presenting a final offer, including geography, internal equity and years of experience and expertise. Depeneding on the position you are interviewing for, there may also be a Take Home Exercise as part of the interview proccess. Our assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job.
