Substation Design Engineer

My client is hiring for a Substation Design Engineer! They are a leading multinational engineering firm in the power industry, as a technical lead. In this role, you will be responsible for designing substations across distribution, sub-transmission, and transmission voltage classes while contributing to the future of energy solutions. You'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the power industry while being part of a supportive and innovative environment.Key Responsibilities: Design substations for various voltage classes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and engineering codes. - Develop comprehensive electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design as well as physical design. - Engage in project management tasks, including scheduling and resource planning meetings. - Collaborate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project success. - Conduct Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) on projects and mentor junior engineers. - Research equipment and materials, preparing complex engineering deliverables. - Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality standards effectively. - Coordinate efforts with both internal and external team members. - Identify and communicate client interests to project teams, supporting business development initiatives.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program. - A minimum of 5 years related work experience in substation design. - Ability to meet pre-employment onboarding requirements, including background checks and drug screens.Preferred Qualifications:Relevant experience in substation design, particularly in Physical and/or Protection & Controls. - Experience in QA/QC on substation design projects. - Professional Engineering (PE) License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status in pursuit of obtaining a PE License.Candidate Details:5-10 years of experience preferred from another power engineering firm, ideally rather than a utility.Compensation: -Competitive Base Salary, Full benefits available. - Relocation assistance available for the ideal candidate.
