Large Format Print Operator - 2nd Shift

In addition to possessing a solid background in large format digital print and finishing production, this person should have excellent communication skills. Basic math and computer skills are a must, and any additional graphics experience is a huge plus.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with troubleshooting and not shy away from mechanical issues that may arise. This position requires standing, bending, lifting, and good manual dexterity skills. You will be handling large rigid sheets and heavy rolls of materials.
Responsibilities Include Review job tickets for specifications and instructions relative to each job being processed
All aspects of digital print, production including coordination of materials, equipment and related supplies
Banner fiinishing including welding, sewing and grommeting.
Setup and operate digital routers such as, Kongsberg XP24 and Esko Kongsberg C-64.
Make adjustments to cutting files in Kongsberg with iCut software program to optimize speed, registration, and quality
Efficiently operate equipment, must consistently watch for quality concerns and clean finished products before shipping
Accurately interpret, document and communicate diagnostic feedback from equipment and act upon information to resolve production, maintenance and repair issues
Operate several large format printers
Transfer and set up files for printing
Review orders to understand details and quantities required
Load rolls of material into printers
Ensure color matches when necessary
Troubleshoot equipmeny malfunctions
Restock printing supplies
Perform preventative maintenance and daily cleaning
Maintain a clean work area
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications 2+ years' experience in operating wide format printers and associated equipment for commercial SIGN company
Proven ability using some or all of the following- large format digital printers and equipment to include UV flatbed printer, roll to roll printer, vinyl plotter, laminator and flatbed router
Proven ability using RIP software
Knowledge of industry substrates and films
Ability to multi-task
Color Matching Experience
Basic Math & Computer Skills
Graphic Design / Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus
Extreme attention to detail
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a professional team atmosphere
EDUCATION Associate degree OR equivalent in graphic design or related field
OR relevant work experience in lieu of degree
