Accounting Specialist (AR/AP)St. Louis, MO (4 days onsite / Friday remote)Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist (AR/AP) to support day-to-day accounting operations in a growing, team-oriented environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys process accuracy, collaboration, and contributing to operational excellence.This position plays an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting vendor relationships, and ensuring smooth transactional workflows as the organization continues to expand.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts PayableReview, code, and process vendor invoices in accordance with company policiesPerform two-way matching of invoices to purchase ordersResolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholdersPrepare and execute payment runs (check, ACH, and electronic payments)Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate AP agingAccounts ReceivableSupport invoicing processes and monitor incoming paymentsAssist with collections follow-up as neededMaintain accurate customer account recordsAccounting & Operations SupportAssist with month-end close activities including reconciliations, accruals, and reportingSupport audit requests by providing documentation and transaction detailCreate and maintain purchase orders to support operational needsAssist with inventory reporting and reconciliationMaintain accurate documentation and organized financial recordsQualifications3+ years of hands-on experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivableExperience working in a high-volume transaction environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesProficiency in Excel (pivot tables and lookup functions preferred)Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks (ERP experience a plus)Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work onsite in St. Louis 4 days per weekIdeal CandidateProcess-driven and detail-orientedComfortable working in a structured accounting environmentCollaborative and team-focusedInterested in long-term growth within an expanding organizationCompensation:$55,000-$60,000 per year
