Position Information Type: ContractPosition: Ruby on Rails DeveloperLocation: Pleasanton, CA (Onsite) Job Description:Over 8+ Years of experience required.Mandatory skills: Strong experience in Ruby on Rails development (Rails 8 preferred) with solid understanding of Ruby, OOP, MVC, ORM, RESTful APIs, and clean coding practicesExperience with Rails upgrades, migrations, and Active Storage along with scalable application design principlesStrong backend experience including API development (Jbuilder), service integration (Faraday), and background processing (Sidekiq Pro/Enterprise)Experience working with PostgreSQL, pg_search, and designing optimized database schemas and queriesFrontend experience with Slim, Bootstrap, jQuery, DataTables, along with basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Sass, Stimulus and ImportmapExperience with Azure Cloud services and Azure Blob Storage integrationStrong understanding of code quality, security, and performance tools (RuboCop, Brakeman, Lograge, Bullet, Rack Mini Profiler)Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (RSpec, Capybara, Selenium, FactoryBot, SimpleCov)Experience with API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI (rswag)Proficiency with Git (GitHub), CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, and Agile tools like JIRAFamiliarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and deploymentAbility to integrate multiple data sources and external systems and support business workflowsResponsibilities include development, code reviews, documentation, Jira ticket management, CI/CD maintenance, and cross-functional collaborationStrong troubleshooting skills with ability to resolve production issues and ensure performance, scalability, and reliabilityExperience with Azure cloud, microservices architecture, and caching strategies (nice to have)Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity (nice to have)Nice to have :Javadatabase fundamentals, including knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, query optimizationJIRA exposure is a mustAbility to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environmentSolid communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain regular and predictable attendanceExperience in Health Care industry and medical domain experience
