Kitchen Manager
Responsible for the overall operations of the back of the house, and ensuring the overall integrity of The Boiling Crab brand. Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in food costs, employee retention, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation. Regularly measures and evaluates service levels and standards using guest and employee feedback and develops plans for continuous improvement. Is committed to learning and improving through reading & working with other company members. Continuous education and self-development will be of highest priorities along with a commitment to coaching and developing entire management team and staff.

Job Requirements:
Two-plus full-service restaurant kitchen management
Availability to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
College Degree or hospitality courses preferred; High school diploma or GED required
A valid ServSafe or willing to complete upon hire
Certified Food Protection Manager Training Course & Examination
DC Health Certification
Completion of ABRA Manager License per DC law
Completion of Alcohol Awareness Training
Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
Good manual dexterity
Able to lift 50 pounds
Duties and Responsibilities:
Hire BOH staff
Read tickets, either in electronic or paper form, that are processed through the POS system
Maintains safety and sanitation standards at all times
Rotates products according to FIFO (first in, first out) principle
Covers, labels, dates, and stores prepared products
Maintains high standards of personal hygiene in compliance with local health ordinances
Clean work area, stores utensils, disassembles and cleans equipment
Keeping tabs on food cost
Creates schedules
Trains new hires and on-going training

Physical Requirements:
The Kitchen Manager will be required to engage in the physical action for up to an eight-hour shift.
The Kitchen Manager will be required to lift up to fifty pounds.
The Kitchen Manager works under extreme time pressures to complete orders.
Considerable dexterity is required.
Environmental Exposure:
The kitchen manager is exposed to heat, moisture, smoke and cleaning chemicals used in the kitchen area.
The kitchen manager engages in extensive verbal interaction with co-workers and is exposed to potentially frustrating situations.
Will be exposed to a variety of hot spices (if sensitive to spicy food).
May be required to function as prep cook handling live and raw seafood for use on the cook's line.

The Boiling Crab is a casual, family-friendly restaurant specializing in Louisiana-style Cajun seafood. We currently have locations in Northern & Southern California, Las Vegas, Dallas, Miami, DC and Boston, and we're rapidly growing both domestically and internationally.
It all began in a little Southeastern Texas town called Seadrift. With a population of just 2000, Seadrift was home to Yo'Daddy and his family of crabbers and fishermen. They labored in their boats year-round, catching oysters, crab, and shrimp for the seafood industry. As toiling as the work was, every weekend the men would come home with their catch of the week to enjoy – they boiled crawfish and crabs, shucked raw oysters, grilled fresh fish – always with a beer in hand.
In 1995, Yo’Daddy met the catch of his life: Yo’Mama. With their flair for having a good time, warm hospitality, and passion for excellent seafood, Yo'Daddy and Yo'Mama opened the first Boiling Crab in 2004. Now, with 30+ bustling Boiling Crab locations, everyone can experience the full flavor of a backyard crab fest.
