Estimator II
Reports To: Preconstruction Manager or Senior Estimator
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary
Obtains, calculates and compiles data for use in conceptual/bid proposal estimates, preparing routine estimates under general supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring that all quantity surveys and pricing are accurate and complete
Provide support for the development of bidding strategies by debriefing the salesperson of job elements
Leads the documentation management of the project, ensures all documents are complete and clearly conveys decisions made to sales and operations teams.
Attend pre-bid meetings to discuss project specifics and scope
Participate in bid closings and estimate reviews
Balance workload and assignments to meet deadlines
Develop a value analysis study by defining alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-efficient
Manage action items from Post Bid and finalize ISEC scope.
Compute cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities and requirements, and labor.

Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience
0 – 4 years of experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bids are accurate and profitable
Basic knowledge of ISEC products, services, processes and projects
Understands project plans and specifications
Independently performance most assignments with instruction
Works autonomously at times
Seeks guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisor approval for changes in standards
Engages in company culture
Open to feedback and flexible to change
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Efficient written and verbal communication skills
Strong prioritization and organizational skills, detail-oriented

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience
4 – 7 years of experience
Meets all Minimum Qualifications of Estimator I, in addition to the following:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Owns project throughout lifecycle and seeks feedback on estimating variations and project profitability
Acts as lead estimator on a project team
Submits bids for jobs with minimal supervision; familiar with different estimating and take-off methods
Assists with sales strategy to close jobs
Represents ISEC at GC Scope Reviews
Intermediate knowledge of ISEC products, services, processes and projects
Ability to lead an assignment/special project from start to finish
Makes decisions independently depending on level of complexity
Functions autonomously most of the time
Ability to be strategic/think critically and analytically
Ability to navigate and mitigate risk
Initiates and maintains relationships with key staff and other departments
Contributes to the company above and beyond position
Assist in development/mentoring of Level 1; may have direct reports
