The position requires a hands-on leader who models company values, drives team performance, and ensures that daily operations run efficiently. Success in this role depends on strong communication, consistent follow-through, and the ability to balance people leadership with production demands.Key ResponsibilitiesLead by example by consistently following all company policies, procedures, and processesDevelop, train, coach, and manage team member performanceSupport the Team Leader to ensure their guidance is being instructed and understood across the production teamBuild a cohesive team atmosphere and maintain professionalism at all timesEncourage open communication and uphold the company's open-door policyDetermine daily production schedules and ensure products meet quality standardsCoordinate material movement in alignment with the production planProvide accurate and timely feedback to leadership regarding employee performance, attendance, and work qualityCoordinate labor coverage and assist leadership in determining overtime needsUtilize SAP and other systems to report production, scrap, downtime, and issues impacting department goalsMonitor and analyze daily labor times, KPIs, and tracking reports, including web-based applicationsReview shop order documentation for accuracy and completenessIdentify and escalate safety, quality, efficiency, or team member concerns to area leadershipSuccess in This Role Looks LikeOperational goals are consistently met: production targets, quality standards, and throughput expectations are achieved with minimal downtimeThe team is engaged, well-trained, and performing effectively, with clear communication and strong collaborationSafety is prioritized, with hazards addressed quickly and no preventable incidentsLabor and resources are well-managed, ensuring proper coverage and efficient use of overtimeSystems and reporting are accurate and timely, supporting data-driven decision-makingIssues are identified early and escalated appropriately, contributing to continuous improvementThe work environment is positive and professional, reflecting strong leadership and accountabilityPosition RequirementsAbility to work onsite on 1st or 2nd shift based on business needsWillingness to work at either the Rancho Santa Margarita (RSM) or Lake Forest, CA locationsExperience leading teams and managing processes in a fast-paced production environmentHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to read, write, and communicate clearly with team members, and comprehend work instructions and safety guidelinesAbility to frequently lift up to 50 lbsStrong teamwork orientation with solid organizational and time-management skillsMechanical aptitude with familiarity in basic machinery, pumps, hydraulics, or mechanically driven systemsAbility to develop, correct, and maintain process improvementsExperience creating and editing Training Records, MIs, SOPs, GAs, and other procedural documentationAbility to work effectively in a diverse environment with varying skill levels and backgroundsProficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP (or equivalent material-management software)Ability to perform root-cause analysis using industry-standard investigation methodsExperience leading meetings, managing projects, and delivering formal presentationsResourcefulness in vendor sourcing and market research to support cost-effective, data-driven solutionsAbility to delegate tasks effectively and communicate company goals clearlyPreferredExperience managing teams in medical device manufacturing or similar regulated industries.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address production challenges.Familiarity with Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP) or similar enterprise systems.BenefitsCompetitive compensation range: $19- $23 / hour (California).Comprehensive benefits package.Training and mentorship opportunities.On-campus wellness activities.Education reimbursement program.401(k) program with discretionary employer match.Generous vacation accrual and paid holiday schedule.Please note that the compensation range may be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, experience.
