Plant Superintendent 1st Shift
PurposeThe plant superintendent is responsible for activities of workers in all phases of a plant operation. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Manage the paintline shift operation. Ensure effective employee relations. Coordinate production activities with maintenance and quality to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment. Work with human resources to maintain corporate policies and manage overall headcount according to the budget and sales. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance appraisals; rewarding and discipline; addressing complaints; and resolving problems. Revise production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems. Consult with engineering relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products, or when developing new lines for a new product. Troubleshooting of processes and equipment. Provide support to all operations through the application of lean manufacturing / Kaizen principles. Manages special projects as requested by the General Manager. Frequent communication with all levels of management, corporate support groups, Quality Assurance, and plant personnel. Responsible for related safety requirements. Off shift contact person for customer concerns. Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in manufacturing management, a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience. 6 plus years of experience, or equivalent.
