We pride ourselves on a strong work ethic, team culture, and delivering exceptional results.We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fleet Mechanic to join our team.Position OverviewThis is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of equipment—from small engines to heavy-duty trucks. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40-hour work week, OT opportunitiesCompensation: Highly competitive; pay is based on skill level and competencyKey ResponsibilitiesDiagnostics & RepairDiagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issuesWork on both 2-cycle and 4-cycle enginesPerform repairs on diesel and gas-powered vehicles and equipmentMaintenance & Preventative CarePerform routine maintenance, tune-ups, and inspectionsConduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtimeIdentify and resolve issues before they become major problemsEquipment & Fleet ServiceMaintain and repair a wide variety of equipment, including:Lawn & landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, tillers, chainsaws)Construction equipment (generators, air compressors, etc.)Heavy equipment (excavators, skid steers, mini loaders, UTVs)Fleet vehicles (pickup trucks, trailers, heavy-duty trucks such as dump trucks)Shop Operations & RecordkeepingMaintain accurate service and repair recordsManage parts ordering, inventory, and procurementKeep workspace clean, organized, and safeDocument work in fleet management systemsCollaboration & SupportWork with team members to ensure efficient workflowProvide occasional field service support when neededCommunicate clearly regarding repair status and equipment needsQualifications & RequirementsRequiredProven, verifiable experience as a mechanic (small engine and/or fleet)Strong knowledge of:Engine systems (fuel, ignition, electrical)Diesel and gas enginesHydraulics and mechanical systemsAbility to diagnose and troubleshoot issues independentlyValid class-E driver's license with a good driving recordAbility to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasksStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsPreferredFamiliarity with Welding, FabricationCDL (Commercial Driver's License)Trade school certification or formal trainingToolsMust have, or be willing to acquire, necessary toolsWork Environment & Physical DemandsActive role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout the dayWork performed in shop and occasional outdoor environmentsExposure to varying weather conditions when working in the fieldWhat We OfferTop-tier pay based on experience and performanceSteady, year-round workHealth insurance optionsPaid time offPaid HolidaysConsistent schedule and long-term growth opportunityIdeal CandidateSelf-motivated and dependableOrganized with strong record-keeping habitsComfortable working on a wide range of equipmentTakes pride in high-quality workThrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environmentWe are an equal opportunity employer committed to a safe and productive work environment.Company Description Mitchell Lawn & Landscaping, Inc. is a leading, locally owned, landscape company providing high-end services to residential and commercial clients across the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
