DescriptionSummaryThe Teller is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient transaction services while providing a positive customer experience. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to retain and consistently apply banking procedures, and sound judgment when executing transaction requirements in a regulated environment.Essential DutiesThe duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties, as assigned, including cross training across other departments, as necessary. In addition, incumbent may be required to rotate between banking centers, as needed.Provides a welcoming environment and communicates professionally and effectively with customers and other members of the teamAccurately process a high volume of customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, and check cashing, verifying endorsements, placing Reg CC holds, cash advances, etc.Consistently apply banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements across a variety of transaction typesRetain and correctly apply transaction rules, limits, holds, documentation requirements, and exception handlingPerform required verification and control steps to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigationMaintain a balanced cash drawer by accurately accounting for all cash received and disbursedManage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus and accuracy in a fast-paced environmentIdentify discrepancies, exceptions, or potential risks and escalate appropriatelyAdhere to all security, audit, and internal control standardsDeliver professional, courteous, and efficient service while managing frequent interruptionsParticipates in job specific training and other various Bank training programs, as necessaryMaintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policyMaintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operationsMaintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AMLPerforms other related duties as required and assignedQualificationsQUALIFICATIONSThese specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.High school diploma or GEDPrior banking experience required or a Bachelor’s Degree Prior cash-handling experience requiredDemonstrated ability to retain, recall, and consistently apply detailed procedural informationStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus while performing repetitive and regulated tasksAbility to follow multi-step processes and exercise judgment within established guidelinesStrong reliability, accountability, and integrity when handling cash and confidential informationBilingual in English and Spanish requiredMust be able to work flexible hours as scheduled Monday through Friday, and Saturday rotation (hours will fluctuate as business needs dictate)ORGANIZATIONThis position reports to the Service ManagerThis position does not oversee other positionsTraining RequirementsAll employees are required to attend scheduled mandatory training and complete online regulatory compliance training courses applicable to their specific job function. In all situations, employees must ensure that their actions fully comply with all federal banking laws and regulations, including internal bank policies and procedures.
