Sales Specialist

Chicago Basil is seeking a motivated and energetic Salesperson to help grow our customer base and strengthen relationships with existing customers in the produce and foodservice industry. The ideal candidate understands wholesale produce sales, customer service, pricing, and fast-paced market conditions.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain relationships with grocery stores, wholesalers, and foodservice customersGenerate new business through cold calls, referrals, and market visitsManage customer orders, pricing, and daily communicationWork closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely deliveriesMonitor market pricing, product availability, and customer demandResolve customer issues professionally and efficientlyMeet weekly and monthly sales goalsMaintain minimum profit margin targets set by managementAssist customers with product recommendations and seasonal opportunitiesFollow up on unpaid invoices and help maintain healthy customer accountsQualificationsExperience in produce, foodservice, or wholesale sales preferredStrong communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentSelf-motivated and goal-orientedBasic computer skills and ability to learn sales/order systemsReliable transportation and willingness to visit customers when neededBilingual (English/Spanish) is a plusCompensationBase salary plus commission structureOpportunity for bonuses based on performance and new account growthGrowth opportunities within the companyAbout Chicago BasilChicago Basil is a Chicago-based wholesale produce company focused on quality, customer service, and reliable distribution.
