Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.We are seeking a skilled Architect. You will support the Nairobi CAA Project – construction of a new CAA building in addition to the existing chancery, providing architectural oversight, construction administration, and quality assurance across all phases of the project. You will ensure that architectural elements are executed in accordance with approved design documents, U.S. codes, and contract requirements while maintaining design integrity and functionality.This position is contingent upon the award of the contract, and the contract duration is three years.Key ResponsibilitiesReview architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals for complianceConduct site inspections to verify construction quality and adherence to design intentMonitor contractor quality control processes and enforce corrective actionsEvaluate RFIs, substitutions, and design changes for technical accuracyCoordinate with engineering disciplines to resolve design and field conflictsTrack construction progress and identify risks impacting schedule or qualityMaintain logs and prepare reports for RFIs, submittals, and inspectionsIdentify deficiencies and ensure timely resolutionSupport verification of completed work for payment applicationsQualifications to be successful in the roleBachelor's degree in ArchitectureMinimum 7 years of relevant construction experienceLicensed Architect preferredMust have overseas work experienceKnowledge of U.S. codes and international standardsQA/QC and construction administration experienceKnowledge of Construction Safety regulations, i.e. EM 385-1-1, OSHA, etc.Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, and Word requiredAbility to obtain Top Secret clearanceWhy Planate?Planate Management Group is an Affirmitive Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
