This position requires curiosity, creativity, professionalism, initiative, attention to detail, patience, and a strong interest in good and honest government. The work involves gathering facts, reviewing evidence, and ensuring that public officials uphold their responsibilities. As a Special Investigator, you will perform the following duties:Evidence Review: Collect and evaluate evidence and prepare it for presentation to supervisors and attorneysInvestigative Work: Conduct investigations into suspected violations of the Ethics ActInformation Gathering: Seek out and contact complainants and witnesses to obtain informationRecord Examination: Obtain and examine personal and public records including deeds, contracts, and financial documentsInterview Activity: Interview respondents and witnesses to gain statements and admissionsReport Preparation: Prepare reports that document investigative activity and findingsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.While this position is posted as a Special Investigator 1, we may fill the position as a Special Investigator 2 depending upon the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.Intrastate travel is required, including occasional overnight stay.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. The selected candidate must be available to work at least three days per week in the office or field, subject to agency operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
