Blade OperatorWe are looking for a Blade Operator to join our Big Spring, TX plant. As an Equipment Operator with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials you will support daily operations at our plant facility by operating equipment and performing general plant tasks.Why Apply?Competitive wages.Opportunities for overtime.Company provided benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Company paid life and disability benefits, paid vacation, and 401K.About the RoleResponsibilities:Skillfully operates motor grader to achieve required densities, specified lines and grades, and surface quality of earthwork specifications. Skill in cutting/ finishing to blue top grades, running automated cross-slopes, and Trimble GPS, when available.May occasionally operate other earthwork equipment, including a loader, steel, pneumatic roller, and power broom.Maintains, oils, greases, services, and makes normal operating adjustments to equipment.Installs and removes traffic control devices daily.Other miscellaneous duties include, but are not limited to, equipment maintenance, assisting the foreperson, and/or crew members as needed.Ability to follow instructions.Occasionally performs general laboring duties such as shoveling and raking stone, gravel, earth, and topsoil material.Occasionally directs and guides traffic through the construction job site using proper equipment and procedures.Regularly erects, positions, and moves sign packages in a safe, accurate manner, adhering to state specifications. Move traffic control devices regularly, lifting 30 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs.About YouWe Require:Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in company policy and OSHA/ MSHA regulations.Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, inspectors, engineers, and the general public at all times.Must be able and willing to work outside in the elements.About UsEach day brings new challenges, and we make sure you are prepared for it all.
