Job Details Location: Alton, Illinois (62002) — convenient to the St. Louis metro area; ideal for travel nurses and ICU RNs seeking Illinois nursing jobs Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020–$2130/week Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 16, 2026 – June 15, 2026) Setting: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), 12 beds Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30pm – 7:00am) Hours: 36 hours per week, guaranteed Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday required Orientation: 3 days (includes online modules and on-floor training) Charting System: EPIC (electronic medical record experience preferred) Job Requirements Active RN license in Illinois (or proof of application in process) — travel nurse applicants welcome Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required; recent critical care/ICU RN experience preferred Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms preferred (cardiac monitoring experience helpful) Must pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus) Strong clinical skills caring for patients with CHF, COPD, Sepsis, MI, DKA, COVID, and mechanically ventilated/vented patients Experience titrating common ICU drips and infusions (paralytics, sedatives, Cardizem, amiodarone, etc.) Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a 12-bed MICU as a critical care nurse/ICU RN Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3, with occasional care of IMU patients Titrate, monitor, and document critical drips and infusions as required Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, hospitalists, and intensivists to optimize patient outcomes Document patient care accurately using the EPIC charting system Participate in orientation and ongoing training to support clinical competency Adhere to all hospital policies, including dress code (navy blue scrubs) and safety protocols Take your critical care nursing skills to the next level while enjoying the charm and amenities of Alton, Illinois.
