You'll play a key role in helping students heal, grow, and discover new possibilities. Our students have often faced adversity and educational gaps, but they also show incredible potential. Through engaging math instruction, you'll help students build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop a deeper understanding of key concepts.Your teaching will be personalized and grounded in each student's goals. This is a role for someone who sees the potential in every student and works with purpose to help them reach it.DescriptionQualifications and Preferred ExperienceBachelor's degree and a valid NYS teaching certificate in Mathematics, or an equivalent teaching certificate obtained through a NYS-approved pathway that leads to a master's degree in education and permanent certificationCertification in Special Education strongly preferredPrior experience teaching students with IEPs or emotional/behavioral challenges is a plusMust meet all NYSED and agency training requirementsKey Skills and AttributesSkilled at building rapport with students who have experienced adversityAble to create engaging, age-appropriate math lessons that support academic and emotional growthOrganized and responsive to deadlines and documentation requirementsComfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary teamOpen to learning and reflective practiceWhy Work with Us?We believe caring for our staff is just as important as caring for our students.
