Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.Summary:Primary responsibility for managing the patient's experience in their designated location. Serves the primary Greeter role and collaborates with all other departmental staff in that location to ensure patient needs and concerns are addressed and teamwork is applied to obtain mutual goals of providing positive patient and family experiences. Ensures the patient reception and workflow is operating in an efficient and effective manner consistent Rush policies, procedures, goals, objectives, and initiatives. Provides insight and recommendations for the creation of a welcoming and supportive patient care environment. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Other information:Required Job Qualifications:• High school diploma/GED required. College degree preferred.• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field.• Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - BLS from American Heart Association preferred• Excellent patient care, customer service and interpersonal skills consistent with ICARE/ICONNECT guidelines• Solid communication and analytical skills• Solid leadership skillsPhysical Demands:• Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Responsibilities:Oversees and manages the reception/greeter desk in a manner that meets departmental benchmarks and targets for employee engagement, patient satisfaction, staff and patient safety, access to services, response time targets and optimization of staff and equipment utilization. Solicits feedback from patients and staff to ensure the highest standards of patient and family centered care and professionalism are being applied by staff and students. Provides recommendations for maintaining the physical environment in a manner that meets/exceeds patient expectations. Anticipates problems and issues, makes recommendations on design of new workflows and/or facilities, evaluates future needs, generates ideas for improvement and encourages others to do likewise. Implements ideas in coordination with appropriate stakeholders.Monitors patient wait time and works with technical areas to address patient concerns. Acts as liaison to other sections, departments, and institutions in process of maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and guests. These include Human Resources, Infection Control, Occupational Safety, Research Coordinators, and affiliated training programs.Institutes, oversees, and implements quality improvement activities for area of responsibility applying CPE/DMS methodology. Maintains standards that meet or exceed JCAHO requirements. Understands and applies common medical terminology in processing ordering provider requests. Recognizes frequently ordered exams and validates patient exam prep requirements. Engages with clinical staff to obtain additional medical information as needed.Participates in imaging team huddles to coordinate a unified plan of the day. Collaborates with imaging teams to optimize resource utilization. Utilizes approved modes of communication and provides detailed notes for imaging and front desk members to reference.
