Industrial Site Selection Consultant

The Position: Site Selection Group is seeking to hire a consultant to support the company’s rapidly growing industrial site selection and economic development consulting efforts. The position will focus on evaluating real estate and infrastructure for corporate and economic development projects. The Industrial Site Selection Consultant will manage complex client location decisions, as well as contribute to the improvement of internal team practices. Position would be in-office in either Site Selection Group’s headquarters in Dallas, TX, or in our southeastern office in Greenville, SC.Responsibilities: ·        Perform primary research activities including the solicitation of information from third parties, especially economic development organizations and real estate professionals·        Catalog and analyze information around the technical merits of real estate (including utility and transportation infrastructure, zoning, site developability, site characteristics, etc.)·        Manage project timelines, deliverables, and internal workflows to ensure on-time, high-quality outputs. ·        Interpret complex technical data and craft actionable insights.·        Coordinate and conduct onsite assessments of industrial properties including infrastructure, access, utilities, permitting, and development constraints.·        Coordinate site visit logistics, walkthroughs, and stakeholder meetings with local partners.·        Support projects with GIS, mapping, and data visualization tools to enhance analysis and communication.·        Develop client reports and deliverables and effectively communicate the results of site analyses, while incorporating input from other team members on workforce, operating considerations, supply chain, etc. ·        Present findings to corporate clients, community partners, and economic development organizations in meetings and onsite visits.Qualifications:·        3 to 10 years of experience in location consulting, economic development, civil engineering, real estate, utility, railroad, city/community planning, or geographic information sciences preferred, but not required·        Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, geography, civil engineering, or related fields is preferred, but not required·        Mastery of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint·        Experience working with GIS systems (ArcGIS, ESRI, Google Earth, etc.) is preferred, but not required·        Ability to utilize unfamiliar data and methods, think critically, and be a problem solver·        Demonstrates interest in learning what drives corporate location decisions and economic development best practices, particularly with how real estate and infrastructure impacts the process·        Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with client executives, representatives of state and local government, etc.·        Willing to travel as needed for projects - travel will likely be limited initially (approximately 15-30%) but may increase over the years as candidate progresses. ·        Preference for candidates who demonstrate experience with Artificial Intelligence and Data Visualization
