Job Title: Product Engineering Manager – Softgoods Design & Manufacturing – Fulltime onlyJob Location: Boulder, CO United States – Onsite (Full‑Time)Job SummaryThe Product Engineering Manager – Softgoods is responsible for leading and coordinating cross‑functional development activities for softgoods products from concept through prototype build and development completion. This role owns build execution, schedule coordination, material readiness, vendor management, issue tracking, and OEM partner alignment, ensuring programs are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality expectations. The role operates at the intersection of engineering, operations, and supply chain in a fast‑paced product development environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild & Development ExecutionCoordinate all build deliverables, including:Development schedulesBuild matricesBills of Materials (BOMs)Entry and exit criteriaEnsure build readiness across materials, tooling, documentation, and resourcesDrive on‑time execution of prototype and development buildsCross‑Functional Program CoordinationCoordinate and facilitate regular project calls with cross‑functional stakeholders, including:Product Development (PD)Design Engineering (DE)Test / ReliabilityOperations and QualitySupply Chain and VendorsEnsure alignment on scope, milestones, risks, and deliverables across teamsMaterials & Supply Chain ManagementManage material sourcing activities and track material lead times, including:MIH (Materials In‑House)TIH (Tooling In‑House)Ensure materials are available to support development and build schedulesOversee inventory of development materials and consumablesVendor & Financial ManagementManage vendor quotations and cost trackingDrive PO creation, processing, and approval workflowsTrack vendor invoicing and follow up on paymentsServe as a primary interface between engineering teams and manufacturing vendorsPrototype Logistics & PackagingManage prototype shipment logistics, including:iTracking systemsSerial number assignment and trackingOversee development packaging readiness to support transit, testing, and review activitiesIssue Management & Program RiskTrack, manage, and drive closure of open engineering, quality, and supply chain issues during developmentEscalate risks as needed and align stakeholders on mitigation plansMaintain clear documentation of decisions, actions, and program statusOEM & Facility CoordinationDrive execution and alignment with OEM partners through development phasesLiaise with onsite facility teams to resolve facility‑related issues impacting buildsEnsure development spaces, equipment, and infrastructure needs are supportedInventory & ComplianceOversee secure storage and handling of materialsManage secure disposal of confidential or sensitive materials in compliance with company policiesRequired QualificationsBS/BA degree or equivalent professional experience5-8 years of experience in project or program managementProven experience driving development programs for highly engineered consumer goodsStrong organizational, coordination, and issue‑management skillsPreferred QualificationsTechnical experience with softgoods product development (textiles, sewn assemblies, flexible materials)Experience managing cross‑functional engineering teamsFamiliarity with prototype build phases (EVT / DVT / PVT or equivalent)Experience working with global OEMs and manufacturing vendorsCore Skills & CompetenciesProgram execution and delivery ownershipCross‑functional communication and leadershipSupply chain and material readiness trackingVendor and cost managementRisk and issue management during development cyclesOnsite & Employment Requirements (USA)This is a full‑time onsite role in the United StatesWillingness to work in engineering labs, development spaces, and manufacturing environmentsHave a Great Day!Warm Regards,Mohit MittalLead RecruiterContact Details: 609-629-2040Email: mohit.mittal@applabsystems.com4365 Route 1 South, Suite 105Princeton, NJ 08540www.applabsystems.com
