Work is performed onsite in Tallahassee, Florida. Employment is contingent upon contract award.* *Below are some of the responsibilities the Data Architect may be expected to assume in their position:* * Own the data architecture stream for the modernization of a statewide Oracle based records system that carries no current data models, entity relationship diagrams, or interface documentation * Reverse engineer the as is data model from Oracle stored procedures, PL/SQL packages, shell scripts, and XML to document existing system behaviors, workflows, and data processing rules * Produce a data element alignment mapping report demonstrating ninety percent or greater alignment to a national data standard * Author data record requirements specifying data elements, formats, and structural validation and edit rules * Produce a revised data dictionary, a data user manual, and a future state record image template * Author the data ingestion and submission intake processing assessment and database design document capturing the as is and future frameworks * Author the database validations assessment and design document * Author the automated data reconciliation assessment and design document covering external outreach, internal correction processes, and the queries and scripts used to administratively update data * Author the data quality assessment and design document covering organizational standards, rules, monitoring tools, and remediation processes * Produce the data analytics and reporting assessment and design document evaluating current data maturity and framework * Design data record publishing and sharing, covering collection, de-identification, redistribution, release formats, and distribution processes * Author the data migration strategy defining the requirements, implementation, and translation efforts needed for integration with internal systems * Produce the entity relationship diagram demonstrating logical structure including tables, columns, and relationship cardinality *The Must-Haves: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.* * *Must currently reside in the US.* * *Must be available to work onsite in Tallahassee, Florida.* * *Must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check.* * *Must be able to sign and comply with a customer non-disclosure agreement.* * *Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Information Technology major (Or equivalent work experience)* * *Minimum of 8 or more years of data architecture, data modeling, or database design experience* * Demonstrated experience with Oracle Database and PL/SQL, including reading and tracing stored procedures and packages * Experience producing conceptual, logical, and physical data models and entity relationship diagrams * Experience authoring data dictionaries, data element specifications, and validation and edit rule sets * Experience documenting an undocumented legacy system by reverse engineering it from the database and the application code * Experience producing data migration strategies for legacy to modern platform transitions * Experience with data quality assessment, profiling, and remediation approaches * Experience with data de-identification, redaction, or privacy protected data release * Strong technical writing ability, since the deliverables of this role are documents rather than cod * Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. * Detail oriented. * Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and listening. * Proficient in MS Office applications. *Preferred Skills/Experience: The experience listed below are preferred for this job* * Experience with Oracle Database 19c and Oracle Exadata infrastructure * Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler * Experience mapping a state data set to a federal reporting standard * Experience with National Information Exchange Model or Information Exchange Package Documentation based exchanges * Knowledge of the Driver's Privacy Protection Act or comparable data privacy regimes * Experience with state or federal traffic records, motor vehicle, or public safety data * Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals *GeekSI now covers 100 percent employer contribution toward health insurance premiums for employees and 50 percent for dependents.* GeekSI provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, religion, sex, age, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, citizenship status, disability, veteran or any other legally protected status.
