Job SummaryThe Supervisor (Warehouse) oversees warehouse operations, including loading, material handling, and processing activities. This role ensures the efficient functioning of warehouse staff and operations, adhering to safety and productivity standards. The position reports directly to the Operations Manager.Summary Of Essential Job Functions/ResponsibilitiesStaff Supervision: Schedule, supervise, and assign tasks to warehouse staff. Evaluate performance and provide feedbackOperational Oversight: Ensure timely and accurate completion of warehouse activities, including loading and material handlingRecruitment and Training: Interview, recruit, and organize on-the-job training for new employeesSafety Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standardsInventory Management: Oversee inventory records, ensuring accurate tracking of all inbound and outbound materialsEquipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment and machineryReporting: Prepare and review inventory and evaluation reports related to warehouse operationsAdditional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assignedQualificationsExperience: Prior supervisory experience is requiredKnowledge: Strong understanding of material processing and warehouse operationsSkills: Excellent organizational and communication skillsExperience: Minimum of 3+ years of warehouse experience in the metals service center industry, or completion of a related rotational management training programEducation: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferredComputer Skills: Basic computer skills with experience in web-based management tools and MS Office SuiteLeadership: Strong leadership, motivational, and interpersonal communication skillsProcess Management: Ability to manage processes effectivelyProblem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skillsPrioritization: Capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyIndustry Experience: Experience in the metals processing/distribution industry is advantageousPhysical Requirements: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobilityReliability: Demonstrated reliable work historyAttention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all inspection tasks
