JOB DESCRIPTION:Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining paving and support equipment used in heavy civil and highway construction. This role supports uninterrupted paving operations by ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance in field environments. CORE DUTIES:Assist in loading, transporting and unloading paving equipment. Perform day-to-day equipment setup and resizing Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance and basic repairs on paving equipment. Diagnosed and assist with basic electrical, hydraulic and engine related issues. Use and maintain hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment safely. Position RequirementsREQUIRED EXPERIENCE:Previous experience as a heavy equipment mechanic Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment. Ability to perform general mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Welding and fabrication skills. Certifications in equipment repairs or mechanics. TRAITS REQUIRED: Strong work ethic Strong desire to advance Excellent work attitude Teamwork Adaptability Problem-solving PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Stand for long periods of time. Have full use of arms and hands and the ability to reach for, handle and manipulate objects. Frequently lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds. Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects. Carry tools and equipment. Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl for long periods of time. Be able to see (naturally or with correction) The environment is exclusively outdoors; thus, the job often involves all weather extremes.
