System Design Engineer, Fluids

System One is seeking a System Design Engineer to support advanced nuclear reactor development. This role will support the Sodium Processing Systems team, focusing on system design, vendor coordination, and integration of hardware into overall plant system architecture for a next-generation nuclear reactor program. nThis position works closely with engineering teams and equipment suppliers to ensure system designs meet technical requirements, regulatory standards, and project schedules. nResponsibilities nnnDesign nuclear and industrial systems from requirements development through final design. n nnProvide technical oversight to vendors developing mechanical systems and components. n nnCoordinate review of engineering analyses including thermal, seismic, structural, pipe stress, and heat transfer. n nnIntegrate as-designed hardware into overall plant system design. n nnIdentify and apply appropriate design codes and standards including ASME, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, and NFPA. n nnAnalyze regulatory requirements and incorporate them into complex system designs. n nnSupport project planning and maintain schedule adherence for system design activities. n nnManage drawing packages including P&IDs, 3D models, and system interface drawings. n nnProvide technical direction and oversight of supplier deliverables and coordinate technical reviews. n nnDevelop and maintain system requirements and engineering design specifications for plant equipment. n nnSupport development and execution of system testing and qualification programs. n nnGenerate design packages including calculations, design reports, mechanical drawings, and specifications. n n nRequired Qualifications nnnBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university. n nn4+ years of engineering experience in system design or mechanical/chemical process systems. n nnExperience with fluid systems, chemical process systems, or mechanical system design. n nnStrong understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation. n nnAbility to coordinate cross-disciplinary engineering activities. n nnStrong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills. n nnAbility to manage multiple technical tasks in a multidisciplinary environment. n n nPreferred Qualifications nnnExperience with high-temperature systems or advanced nuclear reactor systems. n nnExperience integrating vendor-designed equipment into plant systems. n nnFamiliarity with ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001 quality standards. n nnExperience supporting engineering design documentation and system qualification testing. n n nAdditional Information nnnTravel: Up to 15% n nnWork Environment: Office and engineering design environment n nnAbility to sit/stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed n n nRef: #161-Managed Staffing Charlotte nSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, TPGS, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America.
