Experience level: Mid-senior Experience required: 5 Years Education level: All education level Job function: Finance Industry: Mining & Metals Total position: 1 Relocation assistance: Yes Visa sponsorship eligibility: NoJob Description:.Duties and Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Director of Finance, Procurement & IT, the Controller will have the following duties and responsibilities:Lead the mine site’s accounting and financial reporting functionsProvide general accounting oversight, cost accounting, and budgetary controls/analyticsOversee cycle counting and accuracy of inventoryOwn FP&A activities, including budgeting and forecasting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and headcount/expense management), report generation, and data integrityMaintain capital project spend tracking and capitalization of fixed assetsEnsure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closeAssist with internal and external audits and implement corrective actions from audit resultsReport and analyze actual financial results against budget/forecastPrepare ad hoc reports for site and corporate stakeholdersPrepare financial statements, compliance reports, and other regulatory filings on a timely basisEnsure adherence to corporate policies as well as site-established policies and proceduresLead continuous improvement initiatives with operating departmentsMaintain effective communication with site managers and the corporate office; identify and communicate potential problems on a timely basisWork collaboratively with all departments as neededMaintain security of confidential informationIdentify areas for improvement and maintain metrics on continuous improvement project workAssist in implementation of integrated financial systemsPerform other duties as assignedCompetencies, Skills and Knowledge:CPA designation preferredAbility to work in the United StatesMinimum 5 years of experience as a financial leader (public company experience preferred)Expert in ExcelExpert in QuickBooksExperience with construction project management, agile/lean practices, and FP&AExperience selecting and implementing ERP systems in a mining/industrial/manufacturing environmentExperience with internal controls and SOX implementationKnowledge of tax and transfer pricing issuesKnowledge of IFRS accounting regulations and best practicesStrong written and verbal communication in English, critical thinking, and data analysis skillsStrong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, OneNote, and TeamsMUST HAVE:Minimum 5 years of experience as a financial leader (public company experience preferred)Experience in Excel and QuickBooksExperience with construction project management, agile/lean practices, and FP&AExperience selecting and implementing ERP systems in a mining/industrial/manufacturing environmentExperience with internal controls and SOX implementationKnowledge of tax and transfer pricing issuesKnowledge of IFRS accounting regulations and best practices
