Mpbile Training Specialist
Job OverviewMobile Training Specialists are responsible for teaching accurate and timely information to their students. Instructors will need to be industry experts in varying topics related to the utility industry. They will strive to deliver pre-built lessons plans, create and utilize demonstration materials, and present these items to the group of learners. They will manage the classroom to ensure that students are attentive and fit to learn. Instructors are also responsible for checking the students' knowledge retention through examinations, coursework, and performance assessment tasks. Instructors will evaluate their own teaching styles to further improve their skills for the next training session. Good characteristics of a MTS include being patient, creative, resourceful and knowledgeable in course material and classroom management. Duties and Responsibilities • Instruct and train field professionals with the proper information and material needed to successfully succeed at every course delivered.• Uphold the Missouri Valley JATC Code of Excellence.• Maintain a safe and pleasant learning environment for learners.• Prepare, administer and grade written and practical evaluations.• Manage week-long class material and be prepared for the upcoming week of class.• Maintain the overall appearance of individual classrooms and labs.• Attend all scheduled meetings. AAR, Weekly Review• Inspect, repair and maintain all MTS equipment.• Support other departments as needed and complete duties as assigned by directors.o Orientation classeso Jobsite visits• Help promote the program through outreach at job fairs and industry events.• Abide by and document all company Lock-out Tag-out procedures.• Able to perform the physical requirements of the trade (Climb poles and towers, etc.).• Hold oneself to the highest workplace standards and follow all traveling organizations company policies, procedures, and guidelines.Required Training and Certifications• Must have a current Class A CDL with no restrictions.• Must have completed a NECA/IBEW JATC within the United States.• Be in good standing with an outside local union hall.• Attend Instructor development classes and maintain all certifications needed to instruct apprentices and journey level workers including OSHA ET&D 10 & 20, First Aid, CPR, Class A CDL, Fed Med & EICA.• Attend and graduate from the National Training Institute (4-year program)Physical and Professional Requirements• Appropriate language• Substance free workplaceo No smoking in buildings• Clean work attire• Employer provided work attire:o 5 Polo Shirtso 5 Quarter zip pulloverso Hardhato Safety glasses• Employee contributed work attire & equipment:o Pole climbing gearo PPE including boots, long sleeve shirts, leather gloveso Winter jacket & overalls pantsAttendance• Hours subject to change based on a 50-hour work week.• Classes are managed by our Mobile Executive Administrator and times are based on customer needs and expectations.• Travel is up to %100• Conditional offer of employment is based on the individual being based out of Indianola IA. All work performed at HQ may not include lodging, food, and travel expenses.General Hours & Compensation• Starting Salary: Competitive lineman wages• Approximately ~50 hours per week• Employer funded LINECO health, dental & vision insurance• Employer funded NEBF 3%• Employer funded NEAP 25%• Employer funded HRA 3%• Paid Holidays• 5 days of paid vacation per year of employment (capped at 15 days)• Truck allowance of $1,250 per month.o Full sized, American made, 4 door pickup truck, 6 years of age or newer
