Job Coach-IEP Continuer (18+) Transition Program

Job Title: Job Coach-IEP Continuer (18+) Transition Program Exemption Status/Test: Nonexempt Reports to: Principal Department/ School: Bay City High School Minimum Salary: 26,048.88 Annual Work Calendar Days: 207 Days Primary Purpose Provide direct support to students in the IEP Continuer Transition Program through job coaching, community-based instruction, and daily living skill development. Assist students in acquiring the skills necessary for employment, independent living, and successful participation in school and community environments under the supervision of the transition teacher. Qualifications Special Knowledge/Skills ? Ability to work effectively with students with disabilities ? Ability to follow teacher-directed instruction and support IEP goals ? Strong interpersonal and communication skills ? Ability to model appropriate workplace and social behaviors ? Basic organizational skills and attention to detail ? Ability to assist with data collection and documentation ? Ability to safely support students in community and work settings ? Ability to safely transport students and support community-based activities Experience ? Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred ? Experience in school, vocational, or community-based settings preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties Job Coaching & Student Support ? Assist students at campus and community job sites under the direction of the teacher ? Support the development of work skills, routines, and appropriate workplace behaviors ? Provide prompts and assistance as needed to help students complete job tasks ? Encourage increasing independence and responsibility. Community-Based Instruction (CBI) ? Assist with community-based instruction activities such as shopping, banking, recreation, and daily living tasks ? Support student participation and appropriate behavior in community settings ? Ensure student safety during off-campus activities Instructional Support ? Assist the teacher with instruction in daily living and vocational skills, including cooking, cleaning, laundry, and organization ? Support classroom and vocational lab activities ? Assist with the preparation of materials and activities. Vocational Programs Support ? Assist with student participation in program activities such as café operations, print shop tasks, and campus-based enterprises ? Help with basic tasks, including stocking, cleaning, and organizing materials ? Reinforce workplace expectations and routines ? Facilitate Vocational Lab for 6th-12th grade students Program Operations ? Assist with the transportation of students to job sites and community activities as directed ? Help maintain supplies, materials, and equipment ? Follow all district safety procedures and guidelines Collaboration & Communication ? Work cooperatively with the teacher, staff, and community partners ? Maintain positive interactions with students and families ? Participate in required meetings and training Working Conditions Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors The employee must be able to: ? Maintain emotional control under stress ? Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 pounds) ? Work in the classroom, community settings, and job sites ?
