We are a nonprofit human-service agency that provides adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live engaged and meaningful lives. We're seeking an enthusiastic individual who will bring their personality, an independent work ethic, and a strong belief in enhancing the lives of those we serve.Essential Duties:Drive the Lifeworks van to transport individuals from homes to work sites. Operate the vehicle safely and legally, adhering to all laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Lifeworks policies and procedures. Maintain the vehicle with respect to safety and cleanliness. Report all vehicle and maintenance needs to a supervisor or designee as soon as possible.Supervise and ensure the safety of all individuals transported on the assigned vehicle.Report all concerns or issues regarding the individuals on vehicle to a supervisor or designee as soon as possible.Ensure that all passengers utilize seat belts while being transported.Secure passengers' wheelchairs to safety restraints to stabilize wheelchairs during the trip.Submit all necessary written documentation required in a timely and complete manner. These documents include, but are not limited to: weekly personal time sheet (using payroll system), monthly vehicle maintenance report, monthly individual attendance report, and significant incident and accident reports as necessary.Assist passengers (as necessary) into and out of vehicle.Maintain effective communication with other staff, families, and residential staff of individuals being transported.Attend all transportation meetings and in-service training necessary for the driver position. Adhere to Lifeworks guidelines regarding time-off notification and approval for overtime from supervisor or designee.Perform other duties and/or assignments to work/program locations based on the needs of the organization.Requirements:High school diploma or GED; one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Must be able to pass fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC, and driving background checks.Valid driver's license required.Experience driving vans is a plus and encouraged to apply.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Equal Opportunity EmployerLifeworks, Inc. believes diversity strengthens the value of our workplace and communities.
