Founded in 1976, Denham-Blythe has completed over 10,000 projects to date, with 90% of our projects with repeat clients.The Field Engineer is responsible for assisting the Superintendent, quality control, all construction site layout, project documentation, and effectively communicating between all parties of the construction process. Project safety and quality shall be continuously observed and improved upon as necessary.Essential FunctionsAssists in the planning, designing, monitoring and managing of projects and programs for substantial new construction, renovation and improvement projects.Assists in serving as a technical consultant concerning facilities planning, construction and maintenance for different categories of facilities.Utilizes program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems to accomplish programming, determine resources and perform long-range planning.Reviews consultant-prepared design drawings, prepares technical specifications, and reviews engineering plans for compliance with numerous regulatory acts.Assists in the evaluation of contract bids, makes recommendations to higher-level engineers regarding feasibility studies, and assists in the management of large-scale construction projects.Uses construction inspection report data to prepare payment estimates as a recommendation for payment.Performs site layout tasks through surveying methods and practices.Provides and maintains vertical and horizontal survey control points using levels, total stations, etc.Assists Superintendent in completing daily reports and recordkeeping.Assists in the preparation of final as-built documents.Performs quality control procedures to ensure project is in accordance with all plans and specifications.Communicates items and issues in a clear manner to design personal and project management.Assists in a variety of basic construction tasks at the job site related to general construction.Other duties as assigned.Position RequirementsSkillsAbility to read construction drawings and documentsProficient in geometrical and mathematical calculationsKnowledge to perform layout and surveyingGood communicate skills both in writing and orallySelf-motivating and responsibleAbility to work as an effective member in a team environmentMust practice effective and clear recordkeeping practicesPhysical DemandsThe position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.Other RequirementsMust obtain level I ACI certification and Engineer in Training certificationMust be willing to submit to a Drug Screen and Background CheckMust be eligible for work in the United States#LI-DNIEqual Opportunity Employer
