CNC Swiss Engineering TechnicianShift: Mon-Thu 5pm-5amPosition SummaryThis role is working with Engineering to coordinate all production and post processing activities. The Engineering Technician will create CNC code that performs a capable, repeatable process, perform process troubleshooting, process improvements, validations, qualifications, and change control.Key Responsibilities:Interpret print and models, create CNC programs and set up machines to produce the component for Swiss or Milling machine centersSelect cutting tools that will achieve cost effective tool life and fully utilize the toolDevelop a process that is capable, cost effective and sustainableWrite work instructions and procedures to support the processFull understanding of G-codeAdvocate and implement the highest quality standards and LEAN principlesAssess and communicate technical specifications to all departmentsIdentify and complete continuous improvement projects o Cycle time reduction o Perishable tooling selection and cost reductionCreate and coordinate engineering testsPerform quality assurance tests to ensure specification complianceAssist/or develop in the development of tool design and CNC programmingModify through change control, BOM/BOO within the ERP systemAssist with all costing and quoting functions for toolingResolve daily manufacturing issues per LEAN structureMaintain machining and secondary operational processesAll other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:2 3 years of experience in technical fieldExperience with CAD and CAM software preferably Solid works, NX and EspritProficient PC skills in a Windows environment, especially word and excelEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal and teamwork skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex partsExperience in a precision manufacturing shop environmentLEAN / Six Sigma training and demonstrated applicationExperience working within an ISO 13485 environmentAbility to travel between LISI sites as neededHealth, Safety & Environment Responsibilities and Skills:Participate in the development and promotion of the HSE culture Be exemplary in terms of health, safety and the environment, in particular by : o Respecting and ensuring respect for the instructions and rules established in the field of health, safety and the environment (in particular the LISI golden rules) o Immediately correcting, whenever possible, or reporting to his or her superiors and/or the HSE department, any malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety and environmental protection o Implementing preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks Participate, upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to his/her professional scope Be familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of his/her work Be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives To be able to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impactPhysical Demands/Working Conditions:Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer Stand, walk, bend, reach, or otherwise move about occasionally Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 pounds occasionally Exposed to typical machine shop physical hazards occasionally Travel by air or car occasionallyCompensation and Benefits OverviewStarting Pay Range for this position is $38-$44/Hour Minimum pay rates offered will comply with applicable county or city regulations if they exceed the listed range. Actual pay rates are determined based on various factors, including but not limited to, local labor market conditions, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language proficiency, and other job-specific qualifications.
