This teacher will be successful in utilizing best practices for supporting students and will need to be highly collaborative, an effective communicator, both verbal and written.Position Type: Instructional - High School//Special EducationLocation: Milford High SchoolReports To: PrincipalSalary: Per ContractStart Date: As soon as possiblePosting Date: 09/02/2025MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust hold a valid Michigan Secondary Teaching CertificateSpecial Education endorsement in CICertification in non-violent crisis intervention training required, or will be providedESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo effectively provide instruction to students on an Individualized Education PlanTo effectively communicate in writing and verbally with students, staff and familiesTo progress monitor student growth to then report data and provide gradesTo be engaged while attending building and department meetingsTo be a learner of your content and other school related topics as to benefit studentsAbility to work independently and also with a teamKnowledge of legal mandates regarding provision of servicesKnowledge of classroom instruction interventions and behavioral management techniquesKnowledge of resources and agencies providing services to studentsAbility to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community, staff, etc.Ability to problem solve and provide assistance in areas requiring conflict resolutionExcellent oral and written communication skillsRespect for confidentiality and integrityStrong organizational skillsProfessionalism and strong work ethicAbility to interact professionally with a wide variety of individualsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's or higher.LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively.
