Understanding of basic signal theory and grounding
Optical Network Knowledge (SONET, ATM, etc.)
ISDN/ fractional T1 concept understanding
T1/T3 concept and troubleshooting experience
SS7 concepts (methods of transport and troubleshooting)
Voice trunk dimensioning experience
Data Transcript/ telecom routing techniques knowledge
SAE audit /dimensioning experience
Processor load analysis experience
Switch network design experience
System border analysis concepts / experience
Capacity analysis concepts /experience
Switch audit experience
Switch profiling understanding (characteristics)
Tools/software:
Microsoft suite (word, Excel, project)
T-bird, Sunset, Firebird T1/T3 test sets
SS7 protocol Analyzers (Inet, Tektronics)
Synchronization tools (GPS Receiver, HP 148)
